| BEAUTIFUL ANDROID 2.2 MAIN SCREEN ! |
INTRODUCTION:
SL-A8 - What can you say? It's a Big 800x600 SingleTouch Screen, finally running on a Freescale A8 CPU with 512MB of Ram to back it up! And you can finally view the Web the way it was meant to be viewed -- with FLASH 10! The CPU listing says 1Ghz, but it's maximum speed is currently set to 800Mhz, I don't know if it can over-clock. And if someone else says it's faster-- Check the Speed Proof Photo on this page.
One thing is, it does use that Proprietary Connector on the bottom like the IPAD - so one device connects at a time (USB, AC Charger, External Device, etc...) And being a completely new device with all new hardware, there are no performance reviews until customers start trying and reporting. Though I'm sure a large support community will soon develop !
Currently does not have Market or GMAIL installed, BUT, our good friend and Firmware Developer Roger Calver at the www.slatedroid.com forum is building a Custom Rom WITH Market & Gmail for this !!!
Currently it does have APPStore and EMAIL. Appstore is like Market (and you can still install any other app by placing it on the SD card yourself.) And the EMAIL program CAN retrieve GMAIL.
